Our Store
Why buy professional products?
Our pharmacy is created to help our clients better achieve their health goals. We carry only the highest quality products so that you can be assured that you are getting the best. The only way to know that you are getting what you are told you are getting out of a product is to do an independent lab assay on the product in question. We have gone out of our way to deal with companies that do this practice.
In looking for products one must be aware of the following criteria so as to assure that you will get the benefit that you are looking for and that you will get your moneys worth:
High purity, low contamination
1. No microbial contamination: bacteria, yeast, or mold.
2. No heavy metals - lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic or aluminum.
3. Free of chemical solvent residue, pesticides and herbicides.
4. Not rancid.
5. Label claim potency - does the product contain what the label claims?
6. Stability - the product maintains potency until the expiration date.
7. No dioxins, mercury, or PCBs in fish oil products.
Are you getting the active ingredients that you're paying for?
Independent Assay to assure that it has the labeled amount of active ingredients.
Labeling can be deceptive. For example, it is legal to say "100 mg of citrus bioflavonoid complex" when in fact the "complex" you are getting is 30 mg of bioflavonoid and 70 mg of lactose (milk sugar).
In addition, some manufacturers cut costs by simply not including the full amount of the nutrient. This is why we ask our suppliers for authentication from an independent laboratory.
Two independent studies commissioned by Wampole Canada Inc. showed that 7 of 10 retail brands of St. John's Wort, and 8 of 12 retail brands of Gingko Biloba, had less active ingredients than what the labels stated. In fact only 25% of the Gingko Biloba brands had no detectable active ingredients whatsoever.
Proper absorption
Beware of Cheap Fillers that block absorption. The fillers themselves can bind the active ingredient so that it passes right through the body without being released for use. The fillers can also be allergens that actually cause more irritation on the system than benefit.
Supplements with food colorings such as tartrazine are a common source of allergy problems. Many "natural" supplements come from food sources such as corn, soy, yeast, dairy, or egg, which may cause allergy problems. We stock only the most allergy-free products available.
Some supplement manufacturers try to save money by adding cheap fillers, including lactose, sucrose, hydrated aluminum silicate, modified corn starch, sodium chloride, or sand. Binders, lubricants, and disintegrators might include talc, soap, rancid oils, shellac, tree sap, polyethylene glycol, waxes, or corn starch.
Fillers are used by companies to increase production and profit margins. An example of a common filler is Magnesium stearate. Magnesium Stearate or stearic acid is a mixture of saturated fats that act as flowing agents to speed up production. The easier the product flows into the capsules the more that can be made. The down side to this is that absorption is decreased and the quality of the product is compromised.
Safety and Efficacy
Because our products are cleaner and contain what they claim, they are safer and more effective.
The companies that we deal with have some of the most ridgid quality control procedures on the market.
Our Philosophy on Supplementation
Why take supplements?
1. Stress burns up vitamins and minerals extremely fast
2. Nutrient deficient diets and soil
3. Boost to help your body get balanced
Supplements are't the whole answer. Your health is dependent on the sum of all your parts. The biochemical advantage that supplements give you may be all that some people need. For most people this is only a piece of the puzzle. We must address each aspect of your being to find true health.
